Near the end of World War II, four brothers decided to escape war-torn Europe and start a new life - and a successful business - in North America. Arriving in Toronto in 1951, the Schickedanz brothers used their construction abilities, commitment to quality and ironclad integrity to build custom homes…and a great reputation.

Undertaking single-family, multifamily and large-scale commercial projects, Schickedanz Bros. Ltd. built their way along the Eastern Seaboard as far south as Florida before venturing west.

Schickedanz West was born in the Calgary area in 1979. For nearly 30 years, the company has been involved in some of the finest recreational condominium, commercial and retail developments in the Rocky Mountains. Like its parent company, Schickedanz West has a deep respect for the environments in which their award-winning developments exist. Known for a forthright, old-fashioned approach to business integrity, the company under-embellishes and over-delivers in everything they do.
